Hi, friends! It has been a while since I posted any updates from my life, and life has been “lifing”. Have you ever gone on a journey and felt like it was never going to end? That is how the past couple of years have felt for me. I want to share with you my recent journey update, from some of life’s latest adventures in career, self-care, and parenthood.
As all of us are busy; we know there are so many different tasks that demand our attention and never seem to let up – working late at the office, taking care of aging parents, volunteering in the community, working on your PhD, and still trying to maintain the home, it just never ends! But amidst all these commitments and obligations that consume much of our days and lives, it is important that we take time to make sure we are tending to ourselves too. So today I want to give you an update on my personal journey – how I am managing (or not) all these tasks while making sure I am prioritizing self-care along the way.
So, in cased you missed it, I am two-years into my PhD program, Doctor of Philosophy in Health Psychology. NOTE: If you are a woman over 40 do not ignore me when start reaching out to you 😉. This has been a goal of mine for quite some time. I started in 2021 and while it has been challenging, it has taught me another level of resiliency. Like with most things, I figured out rather quickly, the areas in this field, I have absolutely no desire to engage. If all goes well and the Lord says the same, I will be done in 2025.
In late 2020, I recognized that my father was getting more forgetful than usual, and this has continued to progress. Yes, he is under the care of a doctor, and I am his primary care giver. This is a journey like no other, as my father, even in his small stature was still a giant in my eyes. There was nothing he could not do, until he couldn’t. But he is healthy, he’s not a complainer, and Please and Thank You and still a part of his vocabulary.
Got a promotion at work. Students are still students, but the program is thriving.
My one and only will be 21 this year. Grateful to see him grow this far, but somehow still not ready.
Menopause has not been kind to me, but what did I expect. I am finally back to regular massages, and I am still running and working out several days a week. Still growing anything I can during our growing season and still volunteering for the various organizations I am affiliated with.
So, while I have not spent a tone of time promoting the business, she is still here. Oh, I forgot to mention, she is trademarked, Fe Will Wellness®; lengthy process, but worth it. You must learn to look beyond tomorrow. So, while I was mostly quiet, I created a coloring book, journal, and opened an Etsy Store.
I’ll try not to stay away so long…
Thanks for your support.
