Last night, I hosted my Spoons of Gratitude soup gathering, and I’m still sitting with the beauty of it all.
By the time it ended, I was exhausted. The kind of tired you don’t complain about because it’s connected to purpose. The kind of tired that comes from preparing, setting, serving, smiling, pouring, and holding space… all at once.
But it was so worth it.
Because while the soup was filling, I truly believe souls were fed, too.
A Wednesday Night… and They Still Showed Up
It was a Wednesday evening. Midweek.
The middle of responsibilities. The middle of deadlines. In the middle of laundry, emails, family needs, work stress, and life, doing what life always does.
And still… people came out.
They came out not for a party. Not for a performance. Not for anything complicated.
They came out for connection. For warmth. For something real. For a moment that felt like a deep breath.
And I don’t take that lightly.
There is something powerful about people choosing to pause their busy day for a bowl, a seat, a conversation, and an experience. It reminded me that we are all carrying something, and we all need spaces where we can simply be human.
Soup Was the Menu… but Community Was the Offering
Yes, there were soups, comforting, hearty, and made with care.
But what made the night special wasn’t just what was served… it was what was shared.
There were laughs. There were moments of quiet reflection.
There were stories exchanged between women who may not have known each other before last night.
There were small nods and smiles that said, “Me too.”
There were words of encouragement written to strangers, reminders that kindness still exists and support is still possible.
It was nourishment in every form.
Food for the body.
Hope for the spirit.
Rest for the soul.
Gratitude for Every Spoonful
I’m grateful for every person who attended.
For every person who took the time to show up for themselves.
For every person who chose softness on a weeknight.
For everyone who trusted me enough to let me host them, not just in a space, but in an experience.
And I’m grateful for the energy in that room.
You could feel it:
That desire to reconnect.
That unspoken need to exhale.
That willingness to receive.
That alone reminded me why I do what I do.
What Last Night Confirmed for Me
This event confirmed something I’ve known for a long time, but last night made it undeniable:
People don’t just want activities. They want meaning.
They want spaces that feel safe.
They want moments that feel intentional.
They want wellness that isn’t performative. wellness that looks like sitting at a table, eating something warm, and being surrounded by people who are also trying to stay whole.
And I’m honored I get to create that.
Thank You for Letting Me Pour
To everyone who came, supported, shared, helped, or even sent encouraging words from a distance, thank you.
Thank you for trusting me with your Wednesday evening.
Thank you for allowing me to pour into you.
Thank you for reminding me that love can still feel simple, and community can still feel sacred.
Last night wasn’t just an event. It was a reminder: We are not meant to do life alone.
And sometimes… healing really does come in spoonfuls.
With gratitude,
